We’ve been graciously blessed with a new school year and it has been busy! We get to see the faces bright with excitement, see friends that we have missed through the Summer and we are reminded of the great community that we have at OLA. Mission Effectiveness, a sub-committee of CSAC, Catholic School Advisory Council, strives to bridge the parish and school communities by creating programs and campaigns to remind our children of the ministry that our Parish School provides. Our goal is to invite the two communities to grow together towards our journey and faith with God.
Our Parish School’s theme of the year is “Super Powered by Faith,” encouraging our children to lean on the calmness we receive knowing that we are not alone. We are excited to reinvigorate our Brick Program designed to build faith through discipline of Mass attendance. We are especially excited by our new OLA Crest sitting beside our school theme banner. We’ve been blessed by you Parishioners, through donations, to add this symbol of identity and pride.
We all work together in this journey, to earn our way to salvation, oftentimes depending on one another. We want the children to know that they do not walk alone in this–they have their friends, their families, their loved-ones that all help them walk with God. We want this crest to be a reminder of that togetherness, so when they are nervous before a test, anxious before a game, or just having one of those days–that they touch the crest and remember that we are all rowing the same direction. Touch the crest, say a prayer with Mary, and be proud of this community we have been blessed with. There is community growth in shared adversity and collective purpose.
