We are deeply saddened to share the news that Fr. Brendan McKeefry died on Monday, June 22nd at the age of 82. Fr. Brendan recently celebrated his 59th Priestly Ordination Anniversary on June 18th of this year. Fr. Brendan was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, 1944, in the North of Ireland. He was the sixth of seven children. Fr. Brendan served as the pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish from 2005-2012. OLA was his final assignment before his retirement.
The Funeral Mass for Fr. Brendan will take place on Wednesday, July 1st, at 11:00am here at OLA. The Mass will be livestreamed on our parish website and social media channels for those who cannot attend in person. A viewing will be held in the church the day before between 4-7pm on Tuesday, June 30th, followed by a Funeral Vigil service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Fr. Brendan may be made to OLA St. Vincent de Paul. There will be a reception following the Funeral Mass in Affinito Hall.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
