Music Ministry

Music ministers offer their gift to the glory of God. They are filled with life, filled with song, and filled with discipleship. Whether they sing or play an instrument, music ministry is essential to the worship of the parish.

Do you like to sing and/or do you play an instrument?  Are you interested in participating in a liturgical ministry?  If so, the OLA Music Ministry may be for you! New members are always welcome in music ministry.  If you are interested in learning more, please click here for our latest informational flyer.

Music ministry rehearsals are in the church on most Wednesday nights. The ensembles for each of the weekend Masses rehearse and collaborate together to maintain a common vision and spirit. At 6:00 pm, we have rehearsal for youth musicians (LifeTeen choir/ensemble every week and youth choir/ensemble as needed), and at 7:00 pm we have rehearsal for adult musicians. Please check the website calendar for up-to-date rehearsal information.

Do you have a child or teenager that is interested in participating in music ministry?  We also have special music ministry opportunities for the youth of our parish.

The OLA Youth Choir and Ensemble is part of our parish effort to offer musical and liturgical education for young people grades K-8.  Participants learn about the various liturgical seasons, the structure and sequence of the Mass, liturgical participation and leadership, and basic vocal technique and musicianship. If a student participates for the entire school year, he/she will experience participating in Masses during all of the liturgical seasons (Ordinary Time, Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter).  The Youth Choir and Ensemble participates at all Faith Formation Class Masses during the school year, and also at other special liturgies, such as 4:00 pm Christmas Vigil, 9:30 am Palm Sunday, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.

Our LifeTeen Choir and Ensemble is for teenagers, young adults, and young-at-heart adults that are interested in both traditional and contemporary liturgical music and are available to serve at the 11:00 am Sunday Mass.

Please contact our music director Casey Oliver if you would like more information about music ministry at OLA. All are welcome!
